Viral On TikTok Toy Car Video Image Of Anies In Formula E, Committee: That's A Hoax!

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Formula E Organizing Committee rejected the toy in the form of a toy car with a cover on the face of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as part of the electric car racing event which was held in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Saturday, June 4 yesterday.

"Absolutely not, it's a hoax," said Vice President Communications for Formula E Jakarta, Iman Sjafei in Jakarta, Monday, June 6, quoted from Antara.

He ensured that the electric car racing event in Jakarta did not sell knick-knacks with the image of Anies Baswedan's face.

Iman added that all merchandise sold at the Formula E Jakarta event was issued by a global organizer, namely Formula E Operation (FEO).

"The official 'merchandise' that is issued is FEO," he said.

During one day of the Formula E electric car race in Ancol, there were several official outlets selling knick-knacks in the circuit area and the Jakarta Expo Kemayoran.

The knick-knacks sold include t-shirts, hats, water bottles, umbrellas, jackets and bags with the majority black and blue inscribed with Formula E.

Meanwhile, videos showing knick-knacks in the form of a toy car with Anies Baswedan's face cover circulated on social media, one of which was TikTok.

The video shows an image of Anies' face with glasses and a brown shirt with a toy in the form of a racing car that reads Formula E.

On the back of the toy wrapper, there is an inscription "Jakarta twists and turns, insists on hosting Formula E".
