Police Alert Team At Monas Ready To Control Demonstration Action Rejects Work Creation Law

JAKARTA - As many as 8,000 joint TNI-Polri personnel were deployed to guard the demonstration against the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja, on Thursday, October 22.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said the joint personnel had been stationed at several points.

"We have prepared 8,000 joint personnel at the Horse Statue. At the points where the masses arrived," Yusri told reporters, Thursday, October 22.

In addition, around 7,000 personnel were also on alert. They will only be deployed if necessary or conditions for demonstrations are not conducive.

"And 7,000 standby personnel at Monas and DPR. This means that if additional strength is needed we will deploy them," he said.

As for the estimation of the demonstration's mass, Yusri could not confirm it. Only from the information obtained by the masses still came from elements of students and workers.

"There are those from Gebrak and the university, I forgot a bit. Workers and students, but that's for sure," he said.
