Questioning The Source Of Funds For Volunteers For The 2024 Presidential Election, Denny Siregar Responds To Trimedya: Getting Chairs Always Spreads Money, Finally Measuring Everything Using Money

JAKARTA - PDI-P (PDIP) politician Trimedya Panjaitan questioned the source of funds spent by volunteers to win his idol political figure in the contestation of the legislative election (pileg) to the presidential election (pilpres).

This was conveyed by Trimedya at the Indonesia Lawyer Club event which was also attended by the General Chairperson of the Ganjarist National Coordinator Eko Kuntadhi and the spokesperson for the Ministry of SOEs Arya Sinulingga.

Eko and Arya are known to have joined the volunteers to win Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 Presidential Election.

"Are volunteers working on their own. Sell the t-shirts, it's not enough, sir!" Trimedya added.

"Since the election was decided by the most votes (Menko Polhukam) Pak Mahfud MD, three months before the legislative election, we had to make volunteers, a successful team, we could not structure the party," continued the member of the DPR.

"We pay for it ourselves, contract together, we make activities together," replied Eko.

"That's Pak Eko and God knows," said Trimedya.

The video clip of the conversation between Trimedya and Eko Kuntadhi was responded to by social media activist Denny Siregar.

Denny, who is also a former Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin volunteer, defends Eko by assuming that politicians who often spread money mean that everything is measured in money.

"Politicians who get seats are always scattering money, finally measuring everything using money..." Denny said on his Twitter account, @Dennysiregar7, Monday 6 June.

Deny said Trimedya cannot generalize that volunteers do not have funds to carry out their activities. He considered the politician unreasonable.

"Duite sopo? We think we are all poor," he said.
