Two Thieves Say Debt Collector Arrested, Police: Perpetrator Always Accuses Victim Of Not Paying Installments
TANGERANG - Police have arrested two debt collectors with the initials BAN (28) and AT (26), who are suspected of stealing Hendra, a resident of Bogor.
Tangerang City Police Chief Kombes Pol Zain Dwi Nugroho said the incident occurred on Jalan MH Thamrin, Tangerang City, Wednesday, May 25, at 08.00 WIB.
The incident began when the victim came home from work using a Honda Scoopy type motorbike with the police number F-6519-FFS. Suddenly, the perpetrators were confronted using a motorbike with a tandem.
"The perpetrator admitted that he was from the Adira leasing party, because the victim was late in installments for 2 months and then dismissed him," said Zain when confirmed, Monday, June 6.
Furthermore, the victim, Hendra, was taken by the perpetrators to the nearest Adira office. However, before arriving at the office, the victim was taken down by the perpetrators.
"The perpetrator brought a motorbike and ordered the victim to redeem his motorbike at the Adira Leuwiliang branch office, meeting Mr. Jono on the second floor," explained Zain.
After the victim came to the office in question, it turned out that there was no one named Jono as mentioned by the perpetrator. Knowing the incident, made a police report at the Tangerang Metro Police.
"The victim immediately went to the Tangerang City Metro Police to make a police report for further investigation," he said.
The police, who received the report, immediately conducted an investigation until they finally managed to apprehend 2 (two) perpetrators in the Karang Tengah area, Tangerang City, Friday, June 3.
"We were able to secure the perpetrators along with the evidence, so their method is to accuse the victim of being in arrears on his motorbike installments," he said
Now the two perpetrators have been detained. In addition, Zain revealed that he would explore the mode of debt collectors and appealed to be intercepted by Eagle Eyes or debt collectors so that they immediately reported to the police.
