Ganjar Asks Managers To Educate The Public About Borobudur Ticket Policy Rp. 750 Thousand
SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo responded to the policy of high prices for the Borobudur Temple. Ganjar asked the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park (PT TWC) to immediately educate the public regarding the background of the price fixing.
Ganjar explained, the government decided to limit tourists from going up to Borobudur Temple to only 1,200 per day. The decision, said Ganjar, was added with control through the application of tariffs.
"So to go up to the temple yesterday, it was conveyed so that there would be management by controlling it through tariffs, that's roughly the case," said Ganjar, Monday, June 6.
According to him, the policy was not decided just like that. Various aspects are considered. One of them is the conservation of Borobudur Temple, which has recently declined. As for today, tourists are not allowed to go up to Borobudur Temple.
Through his Instagram, Ganjar also said the policy had not been implemented. Technical and regulatory preparations are still being discussed by PT TWC and the Borobudur Conservation Center (BKB).
"Until today, TWC is still communicating with the management body (BKB) to prepare its SOP regarding regulations. So people don't need to be disturbed," he said.
On the other hand, a new policy was also discussed, namely lowering the price of entrance tickets to the Borobudur Temple area. Namely for students to Rp 5,000 from the previous Rp 25,000.
"So that in the future they need education, they need it in the context of science, that's a policy taken specifically for students," he said.
To traders, Ganjar asked not to be worried about the existing policies. Moreover, until now, the Borobudur Temple area is still crowded with tourists, both domestic and foreign.
“The difference between regional entrance tickets and boarding tickets are two different things. It's also not going up today and the traders are okay too, so traders don't need to be afraid about that. After all, today, everyone can't go up, it's also crowded," he said.
For information, currently the price of entrance tickets to the Borobudur Temple area is divided into two types. The first is a regular ticket for adults, only Rp. 50 thousand. As for children, the ticket price is Rp. 25 thousand. Meanwhile, for foreign tourists, the ticket price is IDR 210 thousand.
Meanwhile, the discourse on the hike is devoted to the ticket up to Borobudur Temple. Namely Rp. 750 thousand for domestic tourists and 100 dollars for foreign tourists or the equivalent of Rp. 1.4 million.
