U-19 National Team Has An Internal Match In Croatia
JAKARTA - The U-19 national team underwent an internal match on Friday, October 23 at the Sloga Mravince Stadium, Split, Croatia, as a substitute for the trial match against Bosnia-Herzegovina which could not be carried out due to a COVID-19 case in the opposing squad.
"We chose to have an 'internal game' match on October 23. We have prepared a scheme for this match," said the U-19 national team coach Shin Tae-yong, quoted by Antara, Thursday.
According to the South Korean tactician, he will play all the U-19 national team players in the match.
Because Shin wanted to see the development of all players' performance after undergoing training and trial matches.
The South Korean national team coach at the 2018 World Cup confirmed that even though he has an internal status, the match will take place with an atmosphere of a competitive match.
All players will wear the home and away uniforms of the Indonesian national team, each of which is a red and white base.
The match will be chaired by a referee from the Croatian Football Federation (HNS).
U-19 national team goalkeeper Erlangga Setyo welcomed the internal match. He emphasized that all players are ready to show their best performance.
"The 'internal game' will be like a match atmosphere, so we have to focus, work hard and show good progress," said Erlangga.
The U-19 national team has been in Croatia since the end of August 2020 to undergo a training camp (TC).
So far, they have undergone 11 trial matches with the results of five wins, three draws and three defeats.
The TC is a preparation for the U-19 Asian Cup which is planned to be held in early 2021 in Uzbekistan.
After the U-19 Asian Cup, the U-19 national team is projected to compete in the 2021 U-20 World Cup which will be held on 20 May-12 June 2021 in Indonesia.
