Installing Dentures For 223 Patients, FKG Unhas Breaks The MURI Record

MAKASSAR – In the "One Small Step with Big Concern" social service carried out by the Specialist Dentist Education Program (PPDGS) Prosthodontics FKG Unhas managed to break the Muri record. This social service was held in collaboration with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI).

The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Hasanuddin University itself broke the MURI (Indonesian World Record Museum) record in installing the most dentures to 223 patients simultaneously.

The chairman of the committee, Dr. Irfan Dammar Sp Pros (K) in his statement in Makassar, Sunday, June 5, said that the activity was realized through a social service program that facilitates the community in obtaining free oral and dental health services through the installation of dentures.

“FKG Unhas collaborated with nine public health centers, including eight from Makassar City and one from Takalar Regency. After the installation of dentures, each patient is directed to continue to carry out regular dental check-ups at the Unhas Dental and Oral Hospital," he said.

The Dean of FKG Unhas Prof. drg Muhammad Ruslin, MKes, PhD., SpBM (K) conveyed that this social service activity was a real proof of Unhas as a university that carries humanity.

"FKG Unhas will continue to provide services and attention to the community through health programs as a realization and attitude of caring for others, which is expected to provide benefits and encourage public awareness of the importance of dental and oral health," he said.

Unhas Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Jamaluddin Jompa, MSc in his speech stated that he really appreciated the entire performance of the Unhas FKG which took real action for the community. The program presented involves professional human resources and educates public health, especially dental and oral health.

"The MURI record that is received is the spirit and motivation to keep moving forward in realizing the best health services, in order to increase the awareness of independent people on the importance of maintaining dental and oral health," he said, quoted by Antara.

Prior to the event, the organizers open registration. A total of 245 patients entered the screening stage. After going through a series of assessments, as many as 223 patients were in accordance with their health conditions for the installation of temporary teeth and were ready to be fitted with dentures.

The 223 patients came from community health centers (puskesmas), namely Andalas (16 patients), Mangasa (19 patients), Panaikang (15 patients), Minasa Upa (15 patients), Cendrawasi (10 patients), Resident (20 patients). ), Sudiang (41 patients), Takalar (22 patients), Manggala (53 patients), Koas (six patients) and Puskesmas Bara-baraya (six patients).
