Government Submits Draft Work Copyright Act Amounting To 1,187 Pages To Muhammadiyah

JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) admits that they have received the text of the Job Creation Law from the government. PP Muhammadiyah Secretary Abdul Mu'ti said the draft was submitted in person and totaled 1,187 pages.

"The 1,187 page manuscript. Earlier (the manuscript of the Job Creation Law, red) was handed over directly. The manuscript has not yet been signed by the president," Mu'ti told reporters, Wednesday, October 21.

Although there is no signature of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), however, on page one of this manuscript already uses an official letterhead.

When alluded to the difference in pages between the manuscripts submitted from the DPR, which amounted to 812 and the manuscripts that had just been received by PP Muhammadiyah, Mu'ti admitted that he did not know anything.

However, after receiving the manuscript, PP Muhammadiyah conducted a review of the Job Creation Law and submitted its notes to President Jokowi.

It is known, the manuscript of the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja has indeed undergone several changes. At the beginning of the discussion, this manuscript totaled 1,208 pages. Furthermore, when it was passed on Monday, October 5, the manuscript was reduced to 905 pages.

Then after the validation the page change occurs again. There are at least two manuscripts with different number of pages, namely 1,052 pages and 1,035 pages.

Furthermore, when delivered from the DPR to President Jokowi, this manuscript changed back to 812 pages.

Regarding the changes to the page, Deputy Speaker of the DPR Azis Syamsuddin and Chairman of the DPR Legislation Body, Supratman Andi Agtas, once answered about this confusion.

Azis Syamsuddin emphasized that the official Job Creation Law only contains 488 pages. However, if you add the number of pages explaining the law, the total page will be 812 pages.

"If it is limited to the Job Creation Law, it is only 488 pages. Plus the explanation becomes 812 pages," said Azis in a press conference at the Indonesian Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 13.

Azis explained that during the discussion at the Work Committee on the Job Creation Bill, the paper margins were still in the normal size (A4).

When the draft is brought to the Secretariat General of the DPR, the margin requirements must follow the standards agreed by Law Number 12 Year 2011 concerning the Formation of Legislative Regulations. So, the paper margins are changed to the legal size.

"After typing, in the sense of editing, following the legal guidelines by the Secretary General and the ranks, the number of pages is 812 pages, including an explanation of the Job Creation Law. The law is officially only 488 pages," Azis continued.
