East Java Governor Urges Hajj Pilgrims To Take Advantage Of The "Telejemaah" Application

SURABAYA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa appealed to hajj pilgrims to use the "Telejemaah" application to control their health during worship in the Holy Land.

"In the near future, it is hoped that the officers of the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) will participate in socialization and education on the use of the application," he told reporters in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 3.

According to Khofifah, the application initiated by the Ministry of Health supports the implementation of the 1443 Hijri pilgrimage. Because, this application is useful to help the congregation in controlling, preparing and maintaining their health during worship.

In the application menu there is health data input consisting of blood pressure, blood sugar, oxygen saturation, body temperature to various complaints.

Khofifah described that the application contains vaccination information, so that the data of the congregation can be known about the achievements that have been made by the district/city or Puskesmas.

In addition, the application also lists drugs that are often carried by the congregation.

"Through this application, pilgrims can contact directly the health workers who accompany the congregation in a group, even only via WhatsApp is possible," continued Khofifah.

Meanwhile, according to data from the East Java Ministry of Religion for Surabaya Embarkation this year there were 16,967 hajj pilgrims served and divided into 38 flying groups (kloters).

In detail, from East Java as many as 16,087 people, Bali Province 318 people, East Nusa Tenggara Province 291 people, Palembang 119 people, and 152 crew members.

Head of Health Center Haji Budi Sylvana said the features in the "Telejemaah" application consisted of inputting health data to galleries and articles.

The application, he continued, only applies to high-risk pilgrims and the menu can be used and can ask for help from health workers if needed.

"The goal is as an electronic educational media in the form of an Android-based application and is available on the PlayStore for free download," he said.
