Will The United Indonesia Coalition Meeting Tomorrow Discuss The Presidential Election Pair?
JAKARTA - The management of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) has yet to discuss the determination of the pairs of presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) that will be carried for the 2024 presidential election.
The plan for the meeting of the Coalition administrators on Saturday, June 4 tomorrow, will also not discuss who the presidential and vice presidential candidates will be offered for the 2024 presidential election, he added.
"Not yet, not yet. It's still a long way off," said Secretary General of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Eddy Soeparno, Friday, June 3.
He said internal KIB, namely PAN, Golkar Party, and the United Development Party (PPP) still need to conduct an in-depth study to determine the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates that will be carried later. So, the process cannot be that fast, he said.
"One of the goals of the coalition then is to be able to nominate a presidential and vice presidential candidate. But not in the near future, especially tomorrow, no," he said.
The DPR member also mentioned that the meeting between KIB management on Saturday was just a gathering because previously the general chairmen (ketum) had already held a meeting, namely PAN DPP chairman Zulkifli Hasan, Golkar Party DPP chairman Airlangga Hartarto, and PPP DPP chairman Suharso Monoarfa.
The United Indonesia Coalition, according to Eddy, will welcome other political parties that wish to join, including the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
"This coalition is inclusive in nature. Anyone who wants to join is welcome. We welcome it with open arms. Anyone, whether PKS, wants another party in parliament or in non-parliament," he said.
