Investigation Still, KPK Reluctant To Reveal Reasons For Examining PBNU Bendum Mardani Maming

JAKARTA - General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) Mardani H Maming underwent a 12-hour examination at the KPK. However, the KPK does not want to talk much about the examination.

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said that his party did not want to go into details on the examination of Maming which was conducted on Thursday, June 2. The reason is that at this time the investigation of the alleged rioting is still going on and he has not received a report from his subordinates.

"I myself have not received any information from my fellow investigators," said Alexander at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, June 3.

The KPK, continued Alexander, will explain the alleged corruption in due course. Including, the alleged case relates to the owner of PT Jhonlin Baratama, Samsudin Andi Arsyad alias Haji Isam.

"Maming, the process is still investigating (investigation, ed) so we can't reveal the information (related to Haji Isam).

Meanwhile, after being questioned for 12 hours on Thursday, June 2 yesterday, Maming said he was asked for information regarding the alleged corruption that ensnared Haji Isam.

"I am here to provide information for the investigation, but the point is, I am here regarding my problem with Haji Samsudin or Haji Isam, the owner of the Jhonlin Group," said Maming at the KPK Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 2.

Even so, Maming's name was actually mentioned as receiving Rp89 billion in money in a trial for alleged bribery for a mining business permit (IUP) in Tanah Bumbu Regency which was held at the Tipikor Court, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).

This allegation was conveyed by the younger brother of former President Director of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) Henry Soetio, Christian Soetio. At that time, Christian claimed to know that there was a flow of funds to the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani H Maming through PT Permata Abadi Raya (PAR) and PT Trans Surya Perkasa (TSP).

The money transfer has been going on since 2014. The amount of tens of billions of rupiah is referred to as the amount quoted based on PT PCN's financial statements.
