8 Houses In Samarinda Burned Down
SAMARINDA - A total of eight houses in Samarinda City, East Kalimantan were burnt down. The fire hit four residential houses, three empty houses, and one house is a three-door ward.
"The fire that occurred at 12.00 to 13.30 WITA occurred on Jalan Raudah, Gang 8B and Gang 9B, RT 23, Teluk Lerong Village, Samarinda Ulu District," said Head of the Samarinda City Fire and Rescue Service, Hendra AH, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 3rd.
The fire fighting unit that extinguished the fire was from the Disdamkar and Rescue of Samarinda City, namely Command Post 3 dispatched four fire engines, Command Post 1 dispatched three aid units, Command Post 4 dispatched two aid units, and one rescue unit.
In addition, there was extinguishing assistance from the Samarinda private Fire Department (PMK), the Samarinda Balakarcana Unit, and assisted by a number of Samarinda City Volunteers.
Meanwhile, the security department and related agencies visited the location, including from the Samarinda Ulu Police, Babinsa, Babinkamtibmas, and from Patrol Beat 110.
As for the medical or health department, they include PMI Samarinda, Samarinda Siaga 112 Unit, Emergency Medical Team, and Indonesian Escorting Ambulance.
Hendra said the fire which scorched eight houses and three houses were affected, the origin of the fire was suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit, but for confirmation it is still waiting for an investigation from the police.
"In this incident there were five injured victims. Apart from the three empty houses, five other buildings were inhabited by 5 families (KK) with 25 people, but this is temporary data, still waiting for real data," he said.
He admitted that the obstacles in the field when putting out fires and other handling were the small access roads, because in the alley, the hotspots were on a hill, the lack of water sources, and the majority of the buildings that burned were made of wood.
