Canelo Alvarez Constantly Criticized After Losing To Bivol, This Time Attacked By Demetrius Andrade
JAKARTA - Canelo Alvarez continues to receive criticism from various boxing and sports figures. His last defeat to Dmitry Bivol did not leave a good impression on many parties.
One of them is Demetrius Andrade. The Rhode Island boxer criticized Canelo for his performance in Las Vegas. Moreover, he recalled some of Canelo's words against him.
“He told me I was a terrible fighter, but he was beaten by a fighter (Bivol) with the basics,” Andrade commented to YouTube channel Fight Hub.
The two boxers have been in conflict for a long time. On several occasions, Andrade challenged Canelo in the ring without getting the Mexican boxer's approval.
The situation even became tense in 2021. Andrade rebuked Canelo in a press conference, after he defeated Billy Joe Saunders by knockout. The American boxer was immediately taken away by security guards.
Now, Andrade counterattacked Canelo at a tricky time for him. His defeat against Bivol knocked him out of the title of the best cross-division fighter in the world.
Canelo has a chance to prove himself against Bivol in May 2023. Previously, he would finish his trilogy with Kazakh boxer Gennady Golovkin on 17 September 2022.
