Erick Thohir Officially Appoints Darmawan Junaidi To Be The New Master Of Bank Mandiri

JAKARTA - The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk decided to mandate Darmawan Junaidi as the President Director. Darmawan replaces Royke Tumilaar who was appointed by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to become President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI).

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Rully Setiawan said the appointment of an internal banker was a form of shareholder trust in the company's human resource development system.

"With the composition of the board of directors, we are optimistic that the board of directors will be more solid and unified in bringing Bank Mandiri through the economic conditions amid the COVID-19 pandemic," Rully said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 21.

Previously, Darmawan Junaidi served as Director of Treasury, International Banking, and Special Asset Management at Bank Mandiri.

On this occasion, shareholders also chose Alexandra Askandar as Deputy President Director and Sigit Prastowo as Director of Finance and Strategy. Previously, Alexandra served as Director of Corporate Banking at Bank Mandiri and Sigit was Director of Finance at BNI.

Apart from these three positions, the EGMS approved the appointment of Rohan Hafas as Director of Institutional Relations, Susana Indah Kris Indriati as Director of Corporate Banking and Tony Eko Boy Subari as Director of Operations.

Rully believes that the new administrators can support various national programs to save the Indonesian economy, both through the distribution of National Economic Recovery (PEN) financing, restructuring of MSME loans, and social assistance to communities affected by COVID-19.

"The challenges in the banking industry continue to increase due to future economic uncertainty, increasingly fierce business competition and developments in financial technology in various aspects of life, so that innovative solutions are needed to ensure healthy and sustainable business growth," he said.

Thus, the composition of the board of directors at the EGM Bank Mandiri is as follows:

3. Director of Risk Management: Ahmad Siddik Badruddin

4. Director of Information Technology: Rico Usthavia Frans

5. Compliance and Human Resources (HR) Director: Agus Dwi Handaya

7. Director of Treasury and International Banking: Panji Irawan

8. Director of Network and Retail Banking: Aquarius Rudianto

9. Director of Institutional Relations: Rohan Hafas

10. Director of Corporate Banking: Susana Indah Kris Indriati

11. Operations Director: Tony Eko Boy Subari

12. Director of Finance and Strategy: Sigit Prastowo
