Occult Prayer For Eril, Anies Baswedan: Kang Emil's Sorrow Is The Sorrow Of The Citizens Of Jakarta And Indonesia

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan expressed his condolences for the loss of the son of the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, on the Aare River, Switzerland.

Anies said that this grief was not only felt by Kang Emil and his family, but also the people of Jakarta, even throughout Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Anies after performing the occult prayer for Eril with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government at the Fatahillah Mosque in DKI City Hall, according to the request of the West Java Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

"We in DKI Jakarta feel very deep sorrow. The grief of Kang Emil and his family is the sorrow of the people of West Java, the sorrow of the people of Jakarta and the sorrow of Indonesia," said Anies at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, June 3.

Now, the family has accepted his departure and believes that Eril has died from drowning. In this condition, Anies admitted that he wanted to meet Kang Emil and pay his respects in person. However, he still gave time and privacy to Kang Emil and his family for this grief.

"We will wait later after we get complete information. But we want to respect privacy, which is certainly needed by the family at this time. What is important for all of us can pray, sympathize, and we wait for further developments," said Anies.

Anies has also instructed the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Educational Bureau Gunas Mahdianto to make an appeal for the implementation of the occult prayer to all mosques in Jakarta.

"This morning I advised all mosques in Jakarta to hold occult prayers, praying, God willing, that Eril will be elevated in rank in the sight of Allah, as a martyr and his family be given strength, fortitude, in undergoing a test that is infinite in magnitude and severity. We all believe that Kang Emil and his family have the strength, the courage to get through this," he added.
