West Java MUI Calls For Unseen Prayers To Pray For Ridwan Kamil's Son
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of West Java (West Java) called on all residents to perform the occult prayer to pray for the eldest son of the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, who disappeared while swimming in the Aare River, Switzerland.
Emmeril, who is familiarly called Eril, was declared dead after seven days of searching without finding any results.
"With regard to the disaster experienced by Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, the eldest son of the Governor of West Java, Moch Ridwan Kamil, who disappeared while swimming in the Aare river in the city of Bern, Switzerland, on Thursday 26 May 2022 and has not yet been found, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) West Java Province also feels deep sadness while praying that the Governor and his family will continue to be given strength and fortitude in accepting this disaster," said West Java MUI Chairperson KH Rachmat Syafe'i in a circular received, Friday, June 3.
In the circular, Rachmat said, the West Java MUI had met with the family on Thursday, June 2, night. Based on information from the family, Ridwan Kamil and his wife have made it clear and believe that Emmeril alias Eril has died from drowning.
The Indonesian Embassy in Switzerland also said that the local authorities had changed the search status for Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz's beloved son, from looking for a missing person to looking for a drowned person.
"This indicates that the person being sought may have died," said Rachmat.
Therefore, continued Rachmat, by taking into account the provisions of Syara', the corpse must be prayed immediately. Because the body has not been found, the funeral prayer is performed by way of the occult prayer.
"Therefore, the West Java MUI calls on the entire Muslim community to perform the occult prayer for the late Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz today, Friday, June 3 at every mosque or prayer room, either before or during Friday prayers," said Rachmat.
