JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) has distributed an electricity stimulus worth Rp. 24.23 trillion during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is to carry out the government's mandate to provide a reliable and affordable electricity supply for the community.
"The stimulus is a form of social protection provided by the government during the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM)," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 2.
He detailed that for 2020, since April the government has distributed Rp13.15 trillion to 33.02 million customers. For 2021, the budget allocation for electricity stimulus is IDR 11.08 trillion to 31.94 million customers.
Then the government and PLN also provided a stimulus for free electricity use and a 50 percent discount for customers of the 450 Volt Ampere household, 450 VA small businesses and 450 VA power small industries.
Meanwhile, the subsidized 900VA power household was also given a stimulus.
In addition, PLN also provides exemption from loading or subscription fees and exemptions from the minimum account requirement of 50 percent for industrial, business and social customers.
"This effort is concrete evidence that the state is here to protect the community. PLN also continues to improve the reliability of electricity for the community," said Darmawan.
The presence of the state to maintain people's purchasing power is felt by PLN electricity customers throughout the country whose regions implement Emergency PPKM.
Darmawan stated that PLN is a state-owned electricity company that continues to be committed and innovate to carry out a great mission to illuminate and move the country.
Then having a vision to become the leading electricity company in Southeast Asia, PLN is moving to become the customer's number 1 choice for energy solutions.
