Ukraine Is Getting Closer To The 2022 World Cup, Zinchenko Says Victory Against Wales Is A Dead Price

JAKARTA - Oleksandr Zinchenko successfully led the Ukrainian national team to beat Scotland 3-1 in Glasgow, Thursday, June 2 early morning WIB. This victory brings Ukraine closer to the 2022 World Cup.

However, before that, they still have to face the Wales national team in the Euro 2022 World Cup play-off final this weekend. For Zinchenko, victory over Wales is a fixed price for his team.

"This weekend will be another big game for us (against Wales). Another game of life and death for us," said Zinchenko, quoted from Livescore.com, Thursday.

"We need to show the best performance in our lives. Winning is a fixed price," said the 25-year-old player excitedly.

Despite Zinchenko's enthusiasm for the upcoming match, in the match against Scotland at Hampden Park, war-torn Ukraine managed to steal the lead first through goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk.

Scotland had managed to reduce the lag through Callum McGregor in the 79th minute. However, Ukraine finally secured victory with a score of 3-1 after Artem Dovbyk scored in injury time.

Regarding this victory, Zinchenko said that every match played by the Ukrainian national team was like a final.

"For us, every game now feels like a final. We have one more game and have to win," said Zinchenko.

Zinchenko is also determined to win because he wants to give gifts to the Ukrainian people. This is because the current state of the country is in a dire state due to war and Zinchenko wants to bring a little smile to his citizens.

"Ukraine must go to the World Cup, we want to give a gift to comfort our people who are suffering at this time," he hoped.
