Good News From Erick Thohir! BUMN Opens 15,000 Jobs In Cilegon
JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) continues to encourage economic equity in the community, by committing to absorb local workers. One of them is in Cilegon by opening 15,000 new jobs.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the key for Indonesia to progress was an equitable economy. Therefore, Erick asked state-owned companies to map areas that have economic potential to be worked on through the SOE Ministry's program to create job opportunities and business opportunities. One of them is through the implementation of the Cheap Market and the SOE MSME Festival.
Currently, Cilegon City is the fourth point for the implementation of the Cheap Market and the SOE MSME Festival. This activity is Erick Thohir's initiative to encourage job openings for small entrepreneurs in Cilegon City.
This activity is also a synergy of BUMN companies, namely PT Krakatau Steel, PT ASDP, PT IFG, PT Jasa Marga, PT Kimia Farma, PT Peruri and PT Danareksa. It is also supported by a state-owned company that provides basic food packages, namely ID Food.
Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, said he hoped the presence of SOEs could be felt by the public. The activity was attended by more than 3,000 residents of Cilegon City.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to convey greetings from Mr. Erick Thohir to the Cilegon residents here. I hope that this cheap market assistance can help ease the economic burden of the Cilegon residents," he said in a written statement, quoted Thursday, June 2.
Arya said the Ministry of SOEs is committed to developing the community's economy, especially MSMEs and creating job opportunities. In addition to the Cheap Market program and the BUMN MSME Festival, it is also through PNM Mekaar.
Arya said, until now the Mekaar program has helped the business of the underprivileged community in Cilegon City more than 100 percent. "But we will continue to increase this number. Pak Erick targets 25,000 customers in Cilegon City alone," he said.
One of the residents of Cilegon, Nur Hidayati, admitted that she felt the role of SOEs in increasing their business through business loans provided by PNM through the Mekaar program.
"Alhamdullilah, it's very helpful, I don't use money for my daily needs," said Nur.
In the Cheap Market and MSME Festival activities, Arya also held a dialogue with 52 MSMEs assisted by BUMN Houses whose industries ranged from food processing to handicrafts.
One of the MSME actors in Cilegon City, Susi, who is currently pursuing the Susi Jewelry business, admitted that although she only joined the BUMN House three months ago, Susi has received many benefits.
"Starting from business assistance through training and everything is free. But indeed I still have problems with capital. The pearls that I took are original from Lombok," said Susi.
