Real Madrid Officially Sign Antonio Rudiger From Chelsea, Tied To 4 Year Contract
JAKARTA — Real Madrid officially announced the signing of Antonio Rudiger. This Germany international is Los Blancos' first purchase.
Real Madrid announced the purchase of Rudiger on Thursday, June 2 evening WIB. The 29-year-old defender left Chelsea on a free transfer and agreed a four-year contract with Madrid.
"Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Antonio Rüdiger, who joins the club on a four-year contract," the Spanish giants wrote on their official website.
Rudiger has spent five seasons with the Blues. He marked his success at the London club by embracing the European Champions League trophy in the 2020/2021 season.
The player who plays as a central defender is one of the most important targets for coach Carlo Ancelotti. He will be a defensive wall with David Alaba and Eder Militao.
Reportedly Rudiger will get paid 342 pounds (Rp 6.1 billion) per week in Madrid. The nominal is more than three times the salary he received during his time at Chelsea.
The Blues had previously reportedly made a contract extension offer so that Rudiger remained at Stamford Bridge. However, the offer was rejected by the player.
