For The Sake Of A Clean Mataram, The City Government Buys A Road Sweeper Machine For Rp. 1.9 Billion
JAKARTA - The Mataram City Government has purchased a road sweeper for nearly Rp1.9 billion with a capacity of two tons. It is targeted to arrive in July or August 2022.
Head of the Mataram City Environment Service (DLH) HM Kemal Islam in Mataram, Thursday, May 2, said the road sweeper machine was being assembled by a third party winning the tender from Jakarta.
"God willing, we have received it in July or August and can use it. This machine is capable of sweeping the maximum so that Mataram can look cleaner and more beautiful," said Kemal as quoted by Antara.
According to him, the road sweeper, which has the capacity to accommodate up to two tons of garbage, can be used at any time to clean up trash along the road.
However, for the time being the road sweeper is prioritized for cleaning protocol roads.
"Once the machine has been used, the protocol road sweeper will sweep the sidewalks. Garbage on the sidewalks is lowered to the side of the road to be swept by the tool," he said.
He said, apart from having the capacity to accommodate two tons of garbage, the street sweeper also automatically becomes a pressing tool. Thus, the generated waste is not disposed of at the Kebon Kongok TPA, but to the 3R TPS or waste processing center.
"So with this machine, we have carried out automatic waste selection, because the garbage that is swept on the road is mostly organic waste," he said.
While mentioning the human resources who will operate the street sweeper machine, Kemal said, in the near future his party will send DLH officers who will be trained to operate the machine so that they can operate the tool professionally.
"We'll just send one person first, later when he can then he will teach other officers here," he said.
Kemal further added, by looking at the protocol roads in Mataram, ideally Mataram has four road sweeping machines that can be used for the North Ring Protocol Road, Middle One, Middle Two, and South Ring.
