Surya Paloh Reveals Meeting Agreement With Prabowo On Elections, Become A Coalition?

JAKARTA - Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh revealed an agreement regarding the 2024 General Election after holding a meeting with the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, at the NasDem DPP Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 1.

It's not about the coalition, Surya Paloh said that the agreement between NasDem and Gerindra in today's meeting is to both maintain national stability during and after the 2024 elections are over.

"Between Gerindra and NasDem or vice versa NasDem and Gerindra there is an agreement, we must maintain national stability. We invite the election to build awareness of how we value a healthier political culture, our respect for one another must be maintained," said Surya Paloh during a conference in NasDem Office, Wednesday, June 1st.

According to Surya, competing in elections is not by bringing down each other, but can compete in harmony. As well as trying to build public awareness so that identity politics, school politics, and doctrine politics do not disturb national stability.

"With the freedom of social media that exists today, it's easy to suspect, blaspheme. If we can, we can turn to thoughts that invite us to be one nation," said Surya.

Not only Prabowo as General Chair of Gerindra, Surya also invited other political party elites to jointly maintain national stability when the election was held.

"I want to invite all the elites of this nation, including the two of us, whatever the interests of the political parties in dealing with the election strategy, then after the election must continue to prioritize how important the essence of maintaining national stability is," explained Surya.

"This is the contribution of thought earlier, between Mas Prabowo and I there is an agreement. Facing the election, we are together to look after each other, respect each other, remind each other if there are shortcomings in each other even after the election. And that is a shared commitment," he continued.
