Indigenous Society Institutions Hold Pancasila Birthday Ceremony Tomorrow, TNI-Polri In Jayawijaya Ready To Provide Security

JAYAWIJAYA - A number of TNI/Polri personnel in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province, are ready to escort the indigenous peoples' institution (LMA) which plans to hold a Pancasila Birthday ceremony on June 1, 2022 in Jayawijaya.

Jayawijaya Police Chief AKBP Muh Safei said the security was for the succession of the ceremony which was planned to be held at the Jayawijaya Education Field.

"We, the TNI/Polri and the Regional Government, have said that we will provide security. Please carry out activities as usual, the personnel involved are from the two SSK Kodim, the two SSK Battalions, and from the Jayawijaya Police itself plus Brimob," he said in Wamena quoted from Antara, Tuesday. , May 31.

Safei said the security will be assisted by members of the Satpol PP, the Fire Department, and the Orari amateur radio organization.

"We also expect the support of the entire community to realize a safe Jayawijaya," he said.

"Tomorrow, God willing, we will provide security for the community but this will all return to the community. There are community and religious leaders who have a stake in the security itself," he said.

The police chief said that although in the last two days opposing groups have protested against the planned LMA activities which will be coupled with the declaration of a new autonomous region (DOB), Jayawijaya's situation is safe. "Overall the security and security situation in Jayawijaya is under control," he said.

The Pancasila Birth Day ceremony, which is coupled with the declaration of the new autonomous region, will involve representatives of LMA members from nine regencies and LMA districts in the central highlands of Papua.
