Earning Profits Of Millions Of Rupiah Per Day, 3 1.4 Tons Of Subsidized Solar Hoarders In Riau Karimun Arrested By Police
KARIMUN - The Karimun Police, Riau Islands Regional Police, uncovered a case of hoarding 1.4 tons of subsidized diesel fuel by three perpetrators with the initials EH, MS, and YS.
"The perpetrators have been named suspects and detained for further legal proceedings," said Karimun Police Chief AKBP Tony Pantano in a press release at his office, Antara, Tuesday, May 31.
The disclosure of this case started from public information that there were several trucks that transferred diesel fuel from the truck tank into jerry cans. The diesel in the jerry can then be traded again to a number of parties.
Based on this information, he said, the Karimun Police Satreskrim immediately conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the hands of three suspects.
They are moving subsidized diesel fuel from a tank truck into a 30 liter jerry can on Jalan Telaga Tujuh, Karimun District, Karimun Regency, Friday, May 27.
"From the results of the interrogation, the truck filled subsidized diesel fuel at the Poros gas station. After filling it at the gas station, then the diesel from the truck tank was moved into jerry cans to be resold for Rp220,000 per jerry can," said the Police Chief.
Based on this recognition, diesel was sold to other parties for Rp. 7,333/liter from the distribution of Rp. 220,000/30 liters. The price of subsidized diesel at gas stations is Rp. 5,150/liter so that a gross profit of Rp. 2,183/liter is obtained.
The suspects have been doing this since February 2021. They managed to earn millions of rupiah per day from the sale of the subsidized diesel.
The police also secured evidence in the form of three trucks, 49 30-liter jerry cans containing subsidized diesel fuel, two 1,000-liter plastic tanks, and 15 empty 30-liter jerry cans.
As a result of their actions, the three suspects were charged with Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas as amended by Article 40 Number 9 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation with a maximum penalty of 6 years imprisonment and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion.
"The enforcement of the misuse of subsidized fuel is a hard work that we are doing to protect the public from the actions of individuals who abuse subsidized fuel, especially since recently there has been a shortage of subsidized fuel, which is troubling the public," said the Karimun Police Chief.
Kapolres Karimun stated that his party was still investigating the case of hoarding subsidized diesel fuel, especially in relation to the involvement of other parties, such as gas station officers in the process of buying and selling fuel.
