BANTUL - The Bantul Police have arrested four teenagers suspected of being the perpetrators of street violence or klitih on Parangtritis Street, Candi Hamlet, Srihardono Village, Pundong, Bantul, on Saturday, May 28 evening.
"We have arrested four people, one has been named as a suspect", said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bantul Police, AKP Archye Nevada, at a press conference on the disclosure of the crime at the Bantul Police Headquarters, Tuesday.
According to him, the person identified as a suspect with the initials DIO (18) is a resident of Sitimulyo Village, Piyungan, while three people each with the initials DAS (17), RMR (18), and TPN (18), all three are students from Banguntapan District, Bantul, DIY.
The arrest of the four perpetrators began with DIO, who was later named a suspect after members of the Pundong Police patrolled to investigate after receiving a report of the violent crime. Then three other perpetrators were arrested on Monday, May 30 evening.
"We are still investigating the other three people because they were only detained last night. The perpetrator and the victim are both vocational students at a school in Yogyakarta", he said.
He said the incident began when two victims, namely EGS and OJP, on Saturday, May 28, crossed Parangtritis Street.
Long story short, when crossing Parangtritis KM 18 Street Candi Hamlet, Srihardono Village, the victim who was riding in the car was grabbed by four people riding two motorbikes.
In a slumped position, the victim was thrown by the suspect DIO using an old liquor bottle twice. The first throw hit the victim's right abdomen and the second didn't hit but fell in front of the victim's motorbike.

At the same time, the perpetrator kicked the right front deck of the victim's motorbike, causing it to fall, resulting in abrasions on both backs and bruises on the chin, while the other victim suffered a torn wound on the palm of his hand.

The suspect also took the victim's belongings that were left at the crime scene after the perpetrator committed the street violence. The items in the form of a bag containing a wallet and cellphone were then taken by the perpetrators.
