Demonstration In Jakarta Is Conducive, Students In Makassar Still Burn Road Blocks

MAKASSAR - Students of the Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar blocked a road by burning tires. The masses voiced their rejection of the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law.

From VOI's monitoring, demonstrators were still holding on to close Jalan Sultan Alauddin Makassar until 19.00 WITA, Tuesday, October 20. The masses deliberately sat in the middle of the road.

Road blocks make motorists have to turn the direction of travel. Some lead to Jalan AP Pettarani or choose to turn around in Gowa Regency.

Drivers who want to pass on Jalan Sultan Alauddin are advised to choose the Educational Street to Emmy Saelan Street.

Meanwhile, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, appealed to the masses to convey without compromising and paying attention to public order.

"Demonstrations are the conveyance of aspirations that are accommodated by law and we will guard it well for that, so that they are carried out based on social ethics and pay attention to the interests of many people and adjust to existing regulations. Not provoked and anarchist," he said separately.

This afternoon, Makassar State University (UNM) students rallied at the flyover of Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Makassar. This location is near the South Sulawesi DPRD building.

"We still reject the Omnibus Law," said one student.

Police were seen on standby near the Makassar flyover. There were also tactical vehicles prepared near the masses.

Meanwhile the demonstration in Jakarta was conducive. There was a riot by a mass of teenagers in the area of the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue. Now the masses are moving to leave the Horse Statue area after being persuaded by the Marines to disperse.
