A Number Of Names Of Representatives Of The Khilafah Islamiyah Are Circulating In Eastern Indonesia, Detachment 88: We Are Investigating

JAKARTA - Social media was shocked by the circulation of a white paper containing a number of names suspected of being related to the Islamic caliphate. The list of names emerged following the viral convoy of a number of motorbikes in East Jakarta carrying posters supporting the caliphate system.

In the names listed complete with mobile phone numbers, there are rows of representatives in eastern Indonesia. While the head office is in the Bandar Lampung area.

The Head of the Operations Assistance Section (Kabagbanops) of the Anti-terror Detachment 88 of the National Police Kombes Aswin Siregar said when confirmed that his party was still investigating this data.

"We are currently investigating this incident. God willing, we will update the progress," Aswin said when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, May 31.

There is no further information about the names in circulation. VOI has contacted one of the mobile numbers listed in the data but there has been no further response.

The actions of a number of motorcyclists who wrote their support for the establishment of the caliphate went viral on social media. In the video footage circulating, the majority of drivers wear green clothes, unfurl a white flag and support the caliphate.

One of the posters attached to the back seat of the motorbike reads 'Welcome the revival of the Islamic caliphate. 'This viral video has apparently reached the ears of the police.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan said the video was taken on one of the roads in the East Jakarta area. In the process, investigators will look for the parties in the video.

"We will first look for data on the drivers who appear in the video, of course we will also call them. We will also ask for their purpose," explained Zulpan at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday, May 30.

Investigators will also provide education to them so as not to deviate. However, calls such as the establishment of a caliphate in the country are not in accordance with the provisions of the law.

"It is not justified because this is not in accordance with the provisions of the regulations and also what is stipulated in our legislation that the Indonesian nation is not based on a caliphate,"
