Tiko: BUMN Most Affected By The Pandemic Are Pertamina, KAI And Jasa Marga

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister II for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo revealed that there are three BUMN sectors that have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic the sector experienced a decline in consumers.

"There are three state-owned companies that are significantly affected, namely energy, tourism and infrastructure, especially transportation," he said, at the Capital Market Summit & Expo 2020, virtually, Tuesday, October 10.

From the energy sector, the man who is familiarly called Tiko gave an example, the state-owned company that was affected was PT Pertamina. He said, during the pandemic there was a decrease in fuel consumption from the community. But unfortunately, he did not explain in detail the amount of the decline.

"For example, Pertamina has experienced a decrease in fuel consumption from normal conditions," he said.

The tourism sector has also been significantly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Moreover, he said, large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) also affect tourist visits. This is because this policy makes tourist attractions temporarily closed.

"For the infrastructure sector, specifically for transportation, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, Jasa Marga, Waskita have been significantly affected," he said.

Kartika said, in terms of the total traffic of KAI service users, only around 15 percent. This figure is very far from the conditions before the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Because people take public transportation is still lower than normal conditions or before COVID-19. Most people prefer to ride private cars," he said.

Even so, Kartika revealed, land transportation has begun to squirm amid the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, he said, traffic on land has reached more than 50 percent, especially on trans Java and trans Sumatra.
