Update On COVID-19 As Of October 20: New Cases 3,602, Heal, Up 4,410

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. Based on examination of 31,029 specimens, 3,602 new positive cases were found.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 368,842 people," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, October 20.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 4,410, so the total was 293,653 people who recovered from COVID-19. Meanwhile, 117 cases died to become 12,734 people.

On the other hand, provincial data with the highest number of positive cases were in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, as many as 964 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 96,217 people.

Meanwhile, other provinces with a high number of positive cases were West Java, Central Java and East Java. Respectively, there were additional 472, 449, and 300 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases is also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 846 cases. Then, Central Java with 600 cases and East Java with 307 cases.

So far there are 4 provinces that have reported additional cases under 10. Among them, Bangka Belitung and East Nusa Tenggara. Then, there are 2 provinces without positive cases, namely, North Kalimantan and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 4,123,624. In detail, as many as 4,043,769 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 79,855 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 160,740. Currently, 501 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
