Motorbike Convoy 'Welcoming The Awakening Of The Caliphate' In East Jakarta Distributed Leaflets To Residents, Kesbangpol Promises To Search
JAKARTA - The East Jakarta National Unity and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol) is investigating the case of a motorcycle convoy carrying caliphate attributes in Cawang.
Head of the East Jakarta Kesbangpol Agency, Ahmad Yani, said his party was looking for information regarding the identity of the motorcyclist recorded in the viral video.
"Efforts to seek information from Kesbangpol Intel together with Kodim Intel. Kesbangpol attitude continues to monitor and be vigilant," said Ahmad Yani in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, May 31.
Ahmad Yani added, Kesbangpol has a duty to foster national unity, including preventing understandings that are contrary to the state's basis.
"Our main task is to report every movement of events that are considered to threaten the integrity of our country, the Republic of Indonesia," said Ahmad Yani.
Previously, a video went viral on social media from a convoy of motorbike riders carrying posters and Khilafatul Muslimin flags as they crossed the Cawang area, East Jakarta on Sunday, May 29.
Based on the testimony of residents of the group of motorcyclists, it is known that they had distributed leaflets while crossing Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.
It is not yet known the motive and purpose of the motorcycle convoy group distributing leaflets to a number of residents.
"The group stopped and distributed caliphate leaflets, about five minutes while waiting for their colleagues," said one of the bookstore security officers on Jl. Raya Bogor, Sholeh.
