Baleg DPR Approves Harmonization Of EBT Bill, Completed Next Week
JAKARTA - The Legislative Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI with Commission VII of the DPR RI approved the Draft Law (RUU) on New and Renewable Energy (EBT) to be brought to a plenary meeting.
The agreement was taken at the plenary meeting of the decision making on the harmonization of EBT on Monday, May 30.
This approval was obtained after all factions in the DPR RI had expressed their views of the mini factions in a meeting chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council of the Republic of Indonesia Willy Aditya.
The harmonization of the EBT Bill is planned to be brought to a plenary meeting next week.
According to the Chair of the Committee for the EBT Bill, which is led by the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, Achmad Baidowi, based on the technical aspects, substance, and principles of the formation of legislation, the Panja is of the opinion that the EBT Bill can be reviewed as an initiative proposed by the DPR RI.
"After together we listened to all the opinions and views of the mini-factions, then I asked the forum for approval, can the draft law on new and renewable energy be processed according to the laws and regulations to the next stage?" Willy asked in a meeting held at the Nusantara I building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday 30 May.
After the forum approved, the Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI, Sugeng Suparwoto, who represented the proposer, said that EBT is a must that must be chosen. That way, there is an ecosystem development in renewable energy.
"This law is a hope that can create an ecosystem how to develop new and renewable energy. As we often emphasize that new and renewable energy is not an option but a necessity," said Sugeng.
He revealed that basically all factions agreed to continue this bill being discussed in accordance with the applicable provisions in the preparation of the law (UU).
Sugeng also expressed his appreciation for the work of Baleg and Panja which had reached the harmonization process.
"We, Commission VII as the proposer, express our highest appreciation because the process is truly extraordinary. We always follow what Baleg does, today's results are the result of such a long process," he concluded.
