SEMARANG - A husband and wife couple who are members of the Blora Police, Central Java, Bripka Etana Fani Jatnika and First Brigadier Eka Maryani, were charged with corruption in the payment of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) at the Traffic Unit of the Blora Police which caused a loss to the state of Rp. 3.049 billion.
Public Prosecutor Darwadi in a trial at the Semarang Corruption Court, explained that the alleged corruption crime that occurred in 2021 was revealed during a year-end book closing check in January 2022.
During the check, it was discovered that there was evidence of a deposit whose funds had not been paid by the defendant Eka Maryani, who served as the receiving treasurer at the Blora Police Traffic Unit.
From the investigation, it turned out that the money that should have been deposited into the state treasury was used for the personal interests of the two defendants.
The defendant Etana Fani Jatnika entered the money which was the PNBP fund into his Paypal account in several stages with varying amounts.
The money entered in the Paypal account will be deposited and is expected to get a bonus.
Based on the results of the Central Java Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) audit, state losses from the misuse of PNBP funds reached IDR 3.049 billion.
From that amount of loss, the two defendants have returned Rp. 1.3 billion.
"The defendant has returned an amount of Rp. 1.3 billion, resulting in a loss to the state of Rp. 1.65 billion," he said in the trial chaired by Chief Justice Rochmad, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 30.
