Choose To Focus On Training For The Austrian National Team, Ralf Rangnick Resigns From The Position Of MU Consultant

JAKARTA - Ralf Rangnick has been confirmed to resign from his advisory or consulting position at Manchester United after being interim coach of the English club for six months.

In a press conference on Sunday quoted by Reuters from Reuters, the German coach chose to focus on his new position of head coach of the Austrian national team.

Rangnick was appointed coach of the Austrian national team last month but he confirmed last month that he would remain a consultant to the club.

Rangnick, who was replaced by Erik ten Hag, had a deal to work as a consultant for two years when he decided to take charge of Manchester United following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.

"We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim coach over the last six months," United said in an official statement.

"By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as coach of the Austrian national team and will therefore not take up a consulting role at Old Trafford."

"We wish Ralf all the best in the next chapter of his career."

United failed to secure a place in next season's Champions League after finishing sixth in the Premier League under Rangnick.

Meanwhile, Austria will start playing in the UEFA Nations League on June 3 against Croatia before facing Denmark and France.
