Basarnas Finds Pamekasan Residents Dragged By River Current
JAKARTA - A team from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) found residents who were dragged by the river at the Kaliklowang River Bridge, Gladak Anyar, Pamekasan, East Java, last Saturday at around 19.50 WIB.
"The victim was found this morning at around 07.30 WIB, dead," said Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the Pamekasan Regency Government, Amin Jabir, as quoted by Antara, Sunday.
The resident who was dragged by the river was named Sugik Wahyudi (45), a resident of Jalan Sersan Mesrul Gang II, Gladak Anyar Village, Pamekasan.
The disaster started when the victim crossed the Gladak Anyar Village Bridge riding a Supra 125 motorbike with the police number M 3333 GI.
At that time, suddenly the helmet that was placed on the front of the motorcycle seat fell, and the victim tried to pick up the fallen helmet, but the victim slipped and fell from the motorcycle and fell into the river.
At the time of the incident, the river current was very heavy, because it was raining heavily in Pamekasan City for almost all day.
In addition, in the upper reaches of the river, namely the northern part of Pamekasan, it also rains with moderate to heavy intensity.
The victim who could not swim was lost in the current of the river.
Residents who knew of the incident immediately reported to the officers, and a team consisting of BPBD, police, TNI and Basarnas immediately conducted a search.
According to the Head of BPBD Amin Jabir, the search was carried out until around 24.00 WIB on Saturday night using two rubber boats belonging to Basarnas, and on Sunday morning it was resumed.
"So what was found in the follow-up search this morning, was in a dead condition," he said, explaining.
The victim was found by a resident who was about to throw garbage in the river, in a supine position and immediately reported it to the officers who were not far from the victim's location.
"After checking it is true," he said.
The victim was then referred to the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr Slamet Martodirdjo Pamekasan for an autopsy, then brought home by the family to eat.
"Basarnas, BPBD and all teams from the TNI and Polri also helped in the funeral of the victim," he said, explaining.
