Live On Social Media While Holding Up Sajam, 44 Members Of A Motorcycle Gang Arrested By The Police: Illegal Drugs Were Also Arrested
JAKARTA - Cirebon City Police (Polresta), West Java Police arrested 44 members of motorcycle gangs from various groups spread across several areas. In fact, several items of evidence in the form of sharp weapons and illegal drugs were also secured.
"The 44 members of the motorcycle gang that we arrested are from various groups," said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Pol. Arif Budiman, quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 29.
Arif said the Cirebon Police carried out a sweep to the nests of motorcycle gangs in the eastern, central and western regions of Cirebon Regency.
According to him, 44 members of the motorcycle gang who were arrested were having a drinking party and doing a live broadcast on social media, brandishing sharp weapons, looking for enemies by challenging other groups to a brawl.
In addition, said Arif, officers found a number of bottles containing liquor and pharmaceutical preparations without a distribution permit.
"They were arrested in the areas of Ciledug, Arjawinangun, Tegalgubug, and Plered. We also secured evidence of sharp weapons including some who were identified as taking strong drugs, and they will be tested for urine as a follow-up," he said.
Arif added that motorcycle gang members who are proven to have sharp weapons will be processed and subject to Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.
He ensured that he would investigate the case and process the law for members of motorcycle gangs who were troubling the public.
According to him, sweeping activities will be carried out continuously and massively up to the Cirebon Police Sector level to hunt down motorcycle gangs that are still roaming and disturbing the conduciveness of Cirebon Regency.
"We make sure that the Panther Patrol Unit 852 will immediately come to take firm action against motorcycle gangs," he also said.
