Tragic! Student In Palembang Died With Stab Marks In Neck, Witness Sees Victim Was Chased By 3 People
PALEMBANG - A student was stabbed by an unknown person to death with a stab wound to the neck on Jalan Merdeka, Bukit Kecil District, Palembang, South Sumatra.
The head of the Ilir Barat I Palembang Police, Kompol Roy Tambunan, said the victim was a student with the initials R (16), a resident of Jalan Pangeran Sido Ing Lautan, Lorong Budiman, Gandus District.
R was found dead from a stab wound by a sharp object on the right side of the neck, early this morning at around 03.30 WIB on Jalan Merdeka, or right in front of Happy's restaurant.
"An employee of the restaurant saw the victim running, being chased by three perpetrators, then the perpetrator slashed the victim with a sickle and machete until the victim fell covered in blood," he said in Palembang, Antara, Sunday, May 29.
Police personnel and Inafis Polrestabes Palembang have processed the crime scene and examined surveillance cameras around the location and took witness statements.
"The victim has been taken to Bhayangkara Hospital for a post-mortem, we are currently still checking the surveillance cameras and the statements of witnesses to find out who the perpetrator was," he said.
Based on information from the police, the incident began when R along with three of his colleagues F (17), MAR (17), and MRR (16), on their way home using a motorcycle crossed Jalan Diponegoro from the Dwikora area at around 03.10 WIB.
Furthermore, on the road, the victim's vehicle, which was riding with witness F, was suddenly grabbed and forced to a stop by three unknown persons using a white Fino brand automatic motorbike.
There, two of the three people wearing blue hoodies pointed their sickles and machetes at R and F, so they were scared and ran in the opposite direction, leaving the motorbike to save themselves.
Then the perpetrator chased R, slashed him with a sickle and a machete, until R fell covered in blood and the perpetrator fled using a three-wheeled motorbike.
