PGN Guarantees Incident In Tj Morawa Will Not Disrupt Medan's Natural Gas Supply
JAKARTA - Gas subholding PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) immediately takes action to ensure natural gas services to all customer sectors, both industrial, commercial and household, are not disrupted after the incident at Bak Valve No. 140, Sei Bedaai Bridge, Tanjung Morawa, Medan, North Sumatra. on Friday 27 May.
Area Head of PGN Medan, Saeful Hadi explained, the incident occurred during the work of replacing the faucet (valve) by workers in the tub valve (gas flow control faucet), which was passed by the medium-pressure gas pipeline that experienced interference.
Based on reports from the field, the incident occurred when PGN employees followed procedures to maintain distribution network reliability.
The work is carried out by the operation and maintenance team of the PGN Area Medan. From the initial monitoring, the condition of the disturbance in the valve basin resulted in the oxygen level being depleted.
Given the urgency of repairs, the person concerned tried to ascertain the condition, but unfortunately the worker lost consciousness due to lack of oxygen.
Knowing the incident, another PGN team immediately evacuated with the assistance of firefighters.
"In a dangerous location and oxygen levels are getting thinner, the person concerned has lost consciousness," said Saeful.
"We apologize for this incident and offer our deepest condolences, may the victim find the best place in the sight of Allah SWT," he continued.
For PGN, this incident occurred in the Gas Subholding environment after going through 382,829,365 safe working hours and certainly becomes an evaluation in carrying out preventive actions and risk management related to occupational safety, security and health.
