BSI Will Distribute Dividends Of IDR 757 Billion, 25 Percent Of Net Profit In 2021
JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) held an Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) on Friday 27 May.
At the AGM, the shareholders agreed to use 25 percent of net profit in 2021, amounting to IDR 757 trillion as dividends.
"On the basis of achieving solid performance last year, BSI decided to distribute cash dividends of 25 percent or Rp. 757 billion. Meanwhile, 20 percent was set aside as mandatory reserves and the remaining 55 percent was allocated as retained earnings," said BSI President Director Hery Gunardi. at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday.
Hery explained that the amount of this dividend is equivalent to Rp. 18.41 per share.
He added, since the merger on February 1, 2021, BSI managed to record a net profit of IDR 3.02 trillion, up 38.45 percent year on year (yoy).
The dividend payout ratio of 25 percent, said Hery, considers BSI's commitment to continue to provide value to shareholders and provide value to stakeholders through future business expansion plans.
"This decision also indicates strong support from shareholders for management to accelerate the company's business expansion plans," said Hery.
He said, with performance that continues to grow, BSI is increasingly ready to become a new energy for Indonesia.
"In line with the momentum of economic growth, we are optimistic that BSI's performance will continue to improve. In the future, we will continue to spur business and service development in order to meet the expectations of all company stakeholders," said Hery.
In this AGMS, the shareholders also approved the amendment to the company's articles of association, which is related to the government's move to include Series A Dwiwarna shares into BSI.
This Series A Dwiwarna share is a special share of the Republic of Indonesia that grants special rights to shareholders, including approving the approval of the general meeting of shareholders and approving changes to the company's capital.
