Minister Of Transportation Inaugurates Makassar Shipping Science Polytechnic Hospital
JAKARTA - The Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi inaugurated the Type D Hospital at the Makassar Shipping Science Polytechnic (PIP).
The Minister of Transportation said that the construction of this hospital is one form of innovation carried out by one of the Public Service Agencies (BLU) within the Ministry of Transportation in order to provide better, faster and more quality services to the community.
"I appreciate the good collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation and the Makassar City Government in an effort to provide the best service to the community," said Budi Karya in a written statement quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.
The Minister of Transportation said that the presence of this hospital was part of the improvement of health facilities carried out by the Transportation Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMP), from what was previously the Main Polyclinic to a Type D Hospital.
He hoped that this hospital would not only serve the cadets, but also serve the general public in the city of Makassar and its surroundings.
"I hope this is an example for other schools in Indonesia," he said.
Meanwhile, Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto welcomed the construction of the Makassar PIP Hospital health facility.
Ramdhan hopes that the presence of the Makassar PIP Hospital can be part of health resilience for the people of the city of Makassar, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This type D PIP Makassar General Hospital can serve 13 health services consisting of Medical Check Up; Health Checkup of Training Participants; ENT-Eye Health Examination for Seafarers; Emergency Installation (IGD); Intensive Care Unit (ICU); Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU); Outpatient; Inpatient; Labor; Pharmaceutical Services; Laboratory; Radiology, and equipped with operating room facilities.
PIP Makassar Hospital currently has 62 medical personnel consisting of 6 specialist doctors; 11 General Practitioners; 2 Dentists; 28 nurses; 3 midwives, and 12 other supporting medical personnel.
BPSDM Transportation currently has 23 health service centers consisting of 6 (six) main clinic units and 16 (sixteen) primary clinics and 1 health service center unit in the form of a type D General Hospital, namely PIP Makassar Hospital.
After inaugurating the Makassar PIP Hospital, the Minister of Transportation also had time to discuss with Makassar PIP Taruna/Taruni and provide educational assistance for outstanding cadets/Taruni.
He asked the cadets to have a fighting spirit, take time seriously, and do extraordinary things to become quality graduates.
The Minister of Transportation revealed that the formation of quality human resources is the government's concern, for that, he asked his staff so that the implementation of transportation schools should not be carried out in a simple way.
"We have to go all out to form and develop human resources, from here Indonesia has competitiveness with the outside world," he said.
