Full Of Achievements, Apriyani Rahayu Enters Forbes 30 Under 30 2022 List
JAKARTA - Proud news came from Indonesian women's badminton player, Apriyani Rahayu who was named one of the names in Forbes 30 Under 30 2022. Apriyani was named in the list following her flashy achievements in the badminton world.
Apriyani was named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 2022 for the entertainment & sports category. This 24-year-old badminton player is side by side with world athletes such as archer An San, skater Momiji Nishiya and F1 racer Zhou Guanyu.
The choice of Apriyani in the Forbes list is inseparable from her brilliant achievements. Forbes reasoned for choosing Apriyani because she won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, where it made her one of the most influential athletes in Asia.
"Apriyani Rahayu made history at the Tokyo Olympics by winning gold in badminton doubles with her partner, Greysia Polii, making Indonesia the second country after China to win all five gold medals in the sport," Forbes wrote.
"Apriyani joined the national team in 2017 at the age of 19, and within six months the pair broke into the global top 10 and is currently No. 6. She has amassed over 1 million Instagram followers," Forbes continued.
The success of Apriyani Rahayu and Greysia Polii in the Tokyo Olympics which resulted in gold medals also continued the tradition of Indonesian gold medals. It is not surprising that this achievement has also received great appreciation in the country.
Not stopping to make achievements, Apriyani also made another brilliant record when appearing at this year's SEA Games. When paired with Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Apriyani was also able to bring home a gold medal.
In the list, Apriyani is the only Indonesian athlete who has successfully entered Forbes' calculations. While in the entertainment category, Indonesia also has one more representative, namely Prilly Latuconsina.
