MPR Chairman Bamsoet Asks INKA To Increase The Use Of Domestic Components
JAKARTA - Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo asked PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA) to increase the use of domestic components to support the government's policy of increasing the use of local products as an effort to accelerate economic recovery.
"This increase in the use of domestic products is an opportunity for INKA to fulfill the government's expectations and the President's appeal as well as our demands to reduce our outgoing foreign exchange," said Bambang Soesatyo during a working visit to PT INKA (Persero) in Madiun, East Java, quoted from Antara, Friday 27 May.
According to him, in a pandemic situation like this, the country must save foreign exchange and the orientation is exports.
"We encourage all export orientations, including INKA. So that we can attract money and investment," he said.
Bambang explained that with the innovations that PT INKA continues to carry out at this time, the BUMN is able to compete in the global market and increase the country's foreign exchange.
Moreover, now INKA is also continuing to develop the level of use of domestic components (TKDN) so that it can lower the selling price. Thus it has a great opportunity to enter the export market.
According to the data, on average, train products made by INKA have TKDN between 42-75 percent depending on the type. This is because there are still a number of components that cannot be done domestically.
His party appreciates the various innovations that have been carried out by INKA at this time, so that it does not only produce trains, but can also make other products such as electric buses, reefer containers for Indonesian fishery products, and other products such as pertashop.
President Director of PT INKA Budi Noviantoro said with ongoing research and development, INKA continues to strive so that its programs have a high TKDN so as to reduce imports.
"INKA continues to try to fulfill the TKDN as high as possible. If it can be local, why do we have to import it. The TKDN for driving trains has reached 42 percent. Meanwhile, the TKDN for freight trains has reached 75-80 percent," said Budi Noviantoro.
During his working visit to PT INKA (Persero) in Madiun, Chairman of the MPR Bambang Soesatyo reviewed the innovative products made by INKA. Apart from seeing, Bambang and his entourage also tried innovative products such as tram movers, battery trams, and several other products.
