Expanding Interstate Transaction Network, Bank DKI Signs MoU With PT Rintis Sejahtera

JAKARTA - Bank DKI together with PT Rintis Sejahtera as the manager of the PRIMA Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to expand the transaction banking network between countries. This signing makes Bank DKI the first Regional Development Bank (BPD) in the development of payment transaction networks abroad.

The development of cross border cooperation services through PT Rintis Sejahtera is one of Bank DKI's commitments to provide the best service and make it easier for customers to conduct domestic and international transactions.

This collaboration was signed by the Director of Technology & Operations of PT Bank DKI, Amirul Wicaksono, President Director of PT Rintis Sejahtera, Iwan Setiawan and Marketing Director of PT Rintis Sejahtera, Suryono Hidayat, witnessed by UnionPay International Country Director, Andy Xie in Jakarta, Friday 27 May.

On this occasion, Amirul Wicaksono stated, through this collaboration, the needs of Bank DKI customers to be able to transact overseas (cross border transactions) using Bank DKI ATM cards will be fulfilled.

"Especially for customers who will go abroad to travel, work, do business, study or for worship needs," he said.

For information, the collaboration between Bank DKI and PT Rintis Sejahtera is a cross-border transaction service collaboration through the UnionPay International (UPI) ATM network and APN (PayNet-Malaysia, ITMX-Thailand, KFTC-Korea).

The presence of UPI and APN in this collaboration is a strategic step for Bank DKI in partnership with PT Rintis Sejahtera to be more competitive with national private banks in providing reliable banking services.

In this case, Bank DKI will be the Issuer and Acquirer, where there will be two types of debit cards, namely the GPN logo and the UnionPay logo that can be used overseas.

This cross border transaction service through the UPI network can be used in 180 countries. One of them can be used in Saudi Arabia. Thus, it will be easier for Bank DKI customers who are carrying out the pilgrimage and umrah in the Holy Land, because they can make transactions in the form of cash withdrawals, balance checks, and transactions at the EDC machine.

The service has more than 55 million merchants, who can accept UnionPay transactions globally. The number of Bank DKI ATM/Debit cards circulating in the first quarter of 2022 was 3.92 million cards.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, Suryono Hidayat said that PT Rintis Sejahtera welcomed the collaboration with Bank DKI in order to expand the ATM transaction network abroad.

"In this case, we are ready to provide infrastructure in order to realize transaction convenience for Bank DKI customers," he said.

Furthermore, Amirul Wicaksono added, customers who have a Bank DKI ATM card can make transactions at ATMs while enjoying holidays or religious trips to other activities abroad. This is one of Bank DKI's efforts to be present to provide transaction convenience for customers anywhere, anytime.

"In terms of future business development, Bank DKI will focus on developing 80 percent of UnionPay digital cards and maximizing the use of the New JakOne Mobile digital banking application as a payment tool using the QRIS and NFC methods," concluded Amirul Wicaksono.
