JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that state-owned companies will continue to open up job opportunities for the community.

According to him, employment is not only done through recruitment, but also through various programs.

"BUMN continues to open up job opportunities. Not only through recruitment, but also through various programs," he said, quoted from his personal Instagram @erickthohir, Friday, May 27.

Erick said that the transformation of a business must be sustainable.

Therefore, said Erick, under his leadership, BUMN will continue to transform, one of which is by involving the younger generation as young leaders in a company.

"Actually, the recruitment of SOEs is part of the strategy for the large number of SOE millennials who are technology literate. We have to push it to 20 percent," he said.

Furthermore, Erick said, actually the opening of bigger job opportunities is in BUMN programs.

One of them is through PNM Mekaar, namely the ultra micro program, a loan for women in the village.

Erick said, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia, there were many layoffs or layoffs.

However, PNM Mekaar actually increased its customers to reach 7.1 million people. Each of them is able to employ 1 person.

"This means that mothers during COVID-19 created jobs for up to 7.1 million people," he said.

Previously reported, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir officially launched the 2022 BUMN Joint Recruitment Program today.

In this program, Erick opened as many as 2,700 job vacancies in state-owned companies with various positions.

Erick said that this recruitment is part of the transformation of human capital or human resources (HR) in state-owned companies.

In addition, this is also a form of the government's alignment with young people.

"The transformation of SOEs cannot be successful without the transformation of their human capital, that is why it is important for us to ensure how we side with the best talents to join SOEs," he said at the Launching of the SOE Joint Recruitment Program, Tuesday, April 12.

Erick also emphasized the importance of continuity of leadership in BUMN to continue, where state-owned companies need to be filled with figures from the younger generation who not only have capabilities, but have good moral character.

In addition, Erick also asked universities to help build the character of good future leaders of state-owned companies.

"I want to thank the chancellors who continue to collaborate, of course with BUMN or the Ministry of BUMN to ensure a link and match, where the best sons and daughters from each university can also be absorbed into BUMN," he said.
