AS Becomes Principal Of School In Kendari, Alumni Raise Cases Of Alleged Obscenity

JAKARTA - The Alumni Association (IKA) of SMA Negeri 09 Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, held a demonstration in front of the Office of the Education and Culture Office (Diknasbud) of Southeast Sulawesi regarding allegations of sexual abuse by local school principals.

Field coordinator for the demonstration, Riqar Manaba, said that this action was to ask questions regarding the inauguration of the US as the Head of the Kendari 09 Public High School by the Education and Culture Office of the Province of Southeast Sulawesi.

He said the US was proven to have committed immoral crimes against his students in 2017, but the Sultra Education and Culture Office instead appointed him to be the principal.

The alleged immoral case, continued Riqar, has been corroborated by the statement of the US, which is none other than the Principal of SMA 9 Kendari through several media that have published it.

Kadikbud Sultra, Asrun Lio said, his party promised to remove the US from the school principal, if proven by the allegations raised through formal law or the authorities, in this case law enforcement officials.

"If there is a result of the police report being found guilty, then that day we will replace it," said Asrun when meeting the protesters, reported by Antara, Monday, October 19.

Asrun Lio admitted that he did not close his eyes or intend to defend his subordinates who made a mistake or were proven to have violated the law. However, it must be proven before the law.

"The evidence provided by the mass of this action will be studied first. There is no unfinished process. This can all be resolved," explained Asrun.

He said, if there is evidence that meets the requirements in the form of a complaint, then of course it will be reconsidered.

"What is certain is that we will convey it to the public. Because so far the Sultra Education and Culture Office will not hide that if someone is involved in a crime, they will be given sanctions to those concerned," said Asrun.
