KAI Reminds Jabodebek KRL Users To Adjust Travel From Tomorrow
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) again reminded all KRL Commuterline users to pay attention to changes in the pattern of KRL travel operations starting Saturday, May 28.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said that changes in travel occurred on the Cikarang/Bekasi and Bogor/Depok/Nambo traffic, as well as the transit pattern of KRL users at Manggarai Station.
"KAI apologizes to all customers for this service change. KAI hopes that KRL users can adjust their journey starting May 28 and can adapt immediately," said Didiek as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.
Didiek explained, the implementation of the 5th Switch Over (SO) at Manggarai Station by the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation, aims to optimize KAI Group services at Manggarai Station, namely long-distance train travel, Jabodetabek KRL, and airport trains.
KAI fully supports the 5th Switch Over work as part of the development of the Manggarai - Cikarang Double-Double Track (DDT), which is a National Strategic Project.
Starting May 28, KRL trips across Bogor will only serve Bogor/Depok/Nambo - Jakarta City roundtrip connections via Manggarai Station.
Meanwhile, the loop line operation pattern is served by KRL crossing Cikarang/Bekasi with 2 schemes, namely full racket Cikarang/Bekasi pp via Manggarai or Pasar Senen and Half Racket Cikarang/Bekasi – Kampung Bandan/Angke pp via Manggarai.
As for the KRL across Rangkasbitung and across Tangerang, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport train journey, as well as long-distance trains did not change.
Train trips across Bogor/Depok/Nambo will be served on the 2nd floor of Manggarai Station platform 10-13, the loop line crossing, namely Cikarang/Bekasi will be served on the ground floor of platforms 6 and 7, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport train journeys will be served on the ground floor of platforms 8 and 9.
“KRL users from Bekasi/Cikarang to Jakarta Kota, who previously used one trip, now have to transit at Manggarai station. Likewise, users of the Bogor/Depok/Nambo KRL to Sudirman, Tanah Abang, Duri must also transit at the Manggarai station," he said.
Didiek said that with this change, transit of KRL users at Manggarai Station would be safer because they no longer needed to cross between rails, but went up and down floors using the stairs, escalators, and lifts that had been provided.
In addition, the KRL travel speed has also increased from 70 km/hour to 90 km/hour on the Manggarai - Jakarta Kota route and to 95 km/hour on the Cikarang/Bekasi - Jatinegara route.
Later with this development, railway crossings will be reduced, the safety and security of train travel and users will be better maintained, increasing the capacity and number of train trips so that it can serve more people who will use public transportation.
KAI hopes that KRL users can participate in maintaining various facilities at the station, prioritizing elevators and escalators for users who need it, and always following directions from officers at the station and inside the KRL.
"KAI is committed to continuing to provide mass rail transportation that is easily accessible, affordable, and environmentally friendly," said Didiek.
