JAKARTA - ITS (Intelligent Transport System) Indonesia is ready to support the plan to develop a smart transportation system in the State Capital or IKN Nusantara.
The President of ITS Indonesia, William Sabandar promised to continue to support the development of IKN, especially in the field of intelligent transportation systems. With the election, Indonesia as the host of The 19th ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2024 will certainly bring a lot of insights and new technologies.
"As a forum for collaboration, we will work together with ITS Asia Pacific and the ITS World Community, of course by attracting local industries, to jointly launch the IKN development plan," William said in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday, May 27, quoted from Antara.
The election of Jakarta, Indonesia to host The 19th ITS Asia Pacific Forum 2024 can be a promotional event for Indonesia to go global in order to seize opportunities for cooperation between Indonesia and other ITS Asia Pacific member countries. His party plans to display the Transportation Control and Monitoring Center at IKN at the forum.
Currently ITS Indonesia has collaborated with several ITS Asia Pacific countries, including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia as well as ITS World such as Canada, so it is hoped that there will be an exchange of insights on intelligent transportation systems between countries, one of which is autonomous vehicles. .
The Head of the IKN Nusantara Authority, Bambang Susantono, said that the presence of autonomous vehicles was aimed at creating safer, more efficient urban mobility, eliminating congestion and greenhouse gas emissions, as well as providing mobility for people with disabilities and special needs.
ITS Indonesia will support the implementation and standardization of smart transportation at IKN, including but not limited to connected vehicles, autonomous vehicles, green mobility, and smart city systems.
The IKN Smart Transportation Control and Monitoring Center is one of the key units needed in implementing a smart city. With the Intelligent Transportation Control and Monitoring Center, the 12 intelligent transport systems can be controlled centrally.
It is hoped that this form of synergy can have a positive impact on the community in accordance with the slogan carried by ITS Indonesia, namely "Transforming the Nations Through Smarter Mobility."
