Photo News: A Closer Look At The Formula E Car Unboxing
JAKARTA - The organizers and the Jakarta Formula E executive committee unboxed the Formula E racing car imported from the Netherlands.
However, this car is only a similar replica and will not be used for the Formula E race at Ancol on 4 June.
"This is an example of a Formula E car that will compete on June 4," said Ahmad Sahroni, Chairman of the Jakarta EPIX 2022 Organizing Committee at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, Thursday, May 26.
When they arrived at the location, the car was still tightly wrapped in a wooden box. The process of dismantling the box glued with nails takes about an hour.
This car has a body appearance in black, gray, and blue. There are a number of sponsors' names on the face of this electric-powered racing car.
Managing Director of Organizing Committee Jakarta EPIX 2022 as well as President Director of PT Jakpro, Widi Amanasto said, this car is included in the second generation which is also displayed in Formula E car exhibitions in a number of countries.
"This is a car that is indeed a replica, but it used to be used for racing, the gene is still gen 2, this one is being used (racing) this year. This model will be used at the Jakarta E-Prix 2022, including later in other cities," explained Widi.
Based on information from the FIA Formula E official website, currently Formula E has used a 2nd gen car with more sophisticated technology than the first generation.
Formula E car racers gen 2 can reach a top speed of 280 km/h. With 250 kW of power which has a larger capacity than the 1st gen, they can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. This Gen 2 car has a length of 5160 mm, a width of 1,770 mm and a height of 1,050 mm.
