News From Switzerland! Minister Johnny Plate Chooses America To Secure Indonesia's Cyber Data
JAKARTA – The government through the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate decided to choose a technology company from the United States (US) Cisco to participate in building and strengthening digital technology security in Indonesia.
According to Johnny, Cisco's involvement is expected to keep cyberspace clean considering that Indonesia is currently the country with the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia.
"Yesterday, we met with Cisco to talk about how cyber security, especially technology security, keeps the digital space clean, especially in Indonesia, there are many illegal fintechs, data leaks, and hoaxes," he said in a written statement from Davos, Switzerland when attending the World Economy Forum meeting on Wednesday, May 25 local time.
Johnny added that cyber security is the Ministry of Communication and Information's homework to support the acceleration of digital economic growth in Indonesia. he said, Cisco is committed to helping the Indonesian government prepare the right technology to clean up the digital space.
"Cisco certainly has the technology and together we will formulate the right choice, especially with regard to the physical, don't let our digital space become dirty," he said.
As is known, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is a high-level conference attended by several heads of state, leaders of global companies, leaders of political organizations, inventors in the fields of science and culture from 90 countries.
During his visit to Davos, the Swiss Menkominfo Johnny Plate previously held several bilateral meetings including with Google Asia Pacific President Scott Beaumont, Qualcomm President Alex Roger, Traveloka President Caesar Indra and Sisco Vice President Jonathan Davidson.
