Horror, Horror, Delicious, Raises The Anxiety Of Batak Children In Film

JAKARTA - The director of the horror film, Bene Dion Rajagukguk, admitted that he raised the concerns of young Batak people for his latest film. Ngeri Ngeri Sedap explores the dynamics of parents and four children in a Batak family with their respective problems and perspectives.

Bene said that the idea for the story of this film came from the various concerns of Batak children towards their parents.

"I did a survey on Twitter, I said I wanted to make a Batak film, I asked them what they were worried about what to include in this film, I hope that what is conveyed can relate to many people," said Bene as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 25.

In addition to the unrest from his followers on Twitter, Bene also said that "Ngeri Ngeri Sedap" is a form of his self-report, criticism and support for Batak culture and provides a new color for Indonesian films.

The director of Cek Toko Next to The Series said that the film was very personal to him, no wonder he was touched during the editing process because it represented the feelings of many people.

"What is there is a mixture of the anxiety of many people, so when working on it there is a personal feeling, so I am touched because this is a personal mission," he said.

Bene hopes that Ngeri Ngeri Sedap can bridge and improve the relationship between children and parents.

"This film presents the perspectives of many family members, parents to children, children to parents. This is not criticizing children, this is not criticizing parents, let's seek communication together to love each other's family," said Bene.
