Taking Place Since 2011, Commander Andika Perkasa Says Human Cage Suspects From The TNI Could Increase
YOGYAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa said that the number of suspects in the human cage case belonging to the (non-active) Regent of Langkat, North Sumatra, was issued with a Wind War Plan, from TNI elements it is possible that there could still be more.
"There may be additional (suspects) because it's quite a long time from 2011, about 11 years," said Andika at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, Antara, Wednesday, May 25.
The former Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) said that as many as five out of 10 unscrupulous TNI soldiers suspected of being involved in the human cage case belonging to the Langkat Regent had been elevated to suspect status.
Against five other TNI personnel, he said, the case is still being investigated. His party continues to explore who else the person from the unit is responsible for in the case.
"Because it's not necessarily only 10 (who are suspected to be involved) because they were from 2011 or 2012. So we also want to carefully explore who is actually responsible for allowing actions that violate the laws and regulations in Indonesia to happen," he said.
He said that some of the TNI personnel who had been named suspects were those who acted as guards and participated in physical actions.
"All of them (rank) enlisted, non-commissioned officers. Even if there were officers at the time of the case, they were still studying," he said.
However, Andika said that he would still conduct scrutiny regarding the possibility of dismissing the TNI personnel.
The TNI officers were suspected of committing a criminal act of persecution and violating Article 103 of the Military Criminal Code (KUHPM).
